Focus will continue to be on increasing recycling participation

ARLINGTON, Va., The Aluminum Association, the Can Manufacturers Institute and Keep America Beautiful, Inc. (KAB) have announced that Curbside Value Partnership (CVP) has become an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Steve Thompson, long-time director of CVP, has been named executive director. The board of directors is comprised of representatives from Novelis, Alcoa, ARCO Aluminum Inc., Ball Corporation, Coca-Cola Recycling and Keep America Beautiful.

ARLINGTON, Va.,  The Aluminum Association's Cans for Causes Program is pleased to assist SARAH Inc. in Guilford, Connecticut with their recycling efforts.
SARAH Inc. has started a recycling program to keep more than 500,000 aluminum cans and bottles out of landfills, while providing jobs for special needs individuals.  SARAH's mission is to provide advocacy, services and support for people with intellectual and other disabilities and to promote opportunities for full inclusion in their communities.

Study Shows Industry Supports 672,000 Jobs and $152 Billion in Economic Output; Rising Global Demand for Aluminum Creating Good Jobs Nationwide

ARLINGTON, VA. - A new study released today confirms the growing importance of the domestic aluminum industry to the U.S. economy. Research conducted by economic research firm John Dunham & Associates found that the U.S. aluminum industry directly employs more than 155,000 workers and generates $65 billion in economic output in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Aluminicaste and Walbridge Bring Membership to 98 Companies

ARLINGTON, VA. The Aluminum Association announced today the addition of two new member companies, Aluminicaste and Walbridge. Aluminicaste joined as a producer member while Walbridge joined as an associate member. This brings total company membership in the Association to 98, consisting of 50 producer members and 48 associate members.

The Aluminum Association has finalized the 2013 edition of Aluminum Standards and Data. The first update in more than four years, Aluminum Standards and Data 2013 is the preeminent reference for aluminum mill product standards and the most complete source of information on wrought aluminum. 

Energy demand and greenhouse gas emissions associated with primary aluminum production in the United States and Canada have declined significantly in recent years according to a new, peer-reviewed life-cycle assessment (LCA) report released by the Aluminum Association. 

Aluminum Association President & CEO Heidi Brock was named Second Vice Chairman of the National Association of Manufacturer’s (NAM) Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA). 

Members to Focus on Sustainability, Other Issues Surrounding $65 Billion U.S. Aluminum Industry

ARLINGTON, VA. — The Aluminum Association today commends Members of Congress for forming the bipartisan Congressional Aluminum Caucus. Under the leadership of Representatives Larry Bucshon (R-IN), Suzan DelBene (D-WA), Bill Johnson (R-OH) and Bill Owens (D-NY), the recently formed Caucus will educate policy makers and community leaders on economic and environmental issues relevant to the industry and their constituencies.
