Aluminum Week: 90-Day "Reciprocal" Tariffs on Pause
President Trump put a 90-day pause on a set of "reciprocal" tariffs on most countries originally announced on April 2, leading to a midweek market rally. An across-the-board base level tariff of 10% remains on nearly all goods imported into the United States with China now facing a 145% tariff rate. The White House promises a series of bilateral trade deals in the coming weeks and months. None of this directly impacts 25% aluminum tariffs, which were implemented under separate Section 232 authority last month and remain in place. Confused? We've got you.
