Aluminum is the fastest growing automotive material, offering the safest, most environmentally friendly and cost-effective way to boost fuel economy and cut total vehicle carbon emissions. Reducing vehicle weight—without reducing vehicle size—is essential as automakers develop next generation cars and trucks. Automotive is the single largest market for the U.S. aluminum industry today. 

The Aluminum Transportation Group (ATG) is a committee of aluminum-producing companies that promotes research and programs to highlight the benefits of aluminum’s use in the automotive sector. The committee’s primary work includes technical research, policy advocacy, regulatory engagement and market promotion.
