The Aluminum Association's Transportation Group (ATG) will host an in-person design workshop to educate automotive design engineers on aluminum fundamentals and techniques in vehicle design.

Industry experts will lead a workshop discussing how producers and OEMs can more effectively use the fastest growing automotive material to enhance product design and innovation. This educational session is tailored for automotive design engineers who are looking to learn more about all forms of aluminum in automotive applications, particularly design considerations when constructing an aluminum-intensive vehicle.
Over the two-day workshop, industry experts from aluminum producer companies Novelis, Constellium, Rio Tinto, Hydro and Commonwealth Rolled Products will provide in-depth best practices for automotive aluminum fundamentals. The curriculum will cover a variety of processes, including joining, feasibility for product design, processing and production and corrosion and repair for sheet, castings and extrusions. The workshop includes breakfast, lunch and a happy hour to follow the day one program, as well as a tour of various vehicle breakdowns at Munro and Associates.
